  MAGNOLIA SPRINGS , AL   Rev. Samuel R. Hardman, Sr., age 85, a native of Zephyrhills , FL , and resident of Magnolia Springs , AL , died at his home, Thursday, February 10, 2011.   Samuel enlisted in the U. S. Navy at 17 during World War II, and was commissioned a bomb disposal officer at 19 and served in the South Pacific.  After the war, he attended the Episcopal Seminary in Sewanee , TN and was ordained a priest in 1950.  Returning to the Navy as a Chaplain, he served during Korea and Viet Nam . Most of his service was with the U. S. Marine Corps.  He retired as a Captain in 1975 and moved to Magnolia Springs , AL .  He served in various clergy capacities over the next 32 years in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast .   Rev. Hardman was preceded in death by his wife, of 60 years, Trudy, sister, Elva and son Joseph.   He is survived by his Sons, William C. Hardman of Vicksburg , MS , Samuel R. Hardman, Jr. and his wife Sue of Fairfax, VA, Alfred Hardman and his wife Connie of Fairhope , AL , Sisters, Alfea Thomas and her husband David of Atlanta, GA, Mary Lee Tyndall of Citra , FL , nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   Memorial services will be held at St. Paul ’s Episcopal Church, on Old Shell Road , Mobile , Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00am.   Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery .   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Paul ’s Episcopal Church, 4051 Old Shell Rd, Mobile, AL 36608-1399 .   ARRANGEMENTS BY WOLFE-BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, INC. 19698 GREENO ROAD FAIRHOPE , AL 36532
