GULF SHORES, AL Arthur Thomas Petrilena, loving husband, devoted father and grandfather passed away peacefully on May 9th. surrounded by his wife, daughters and close friends in Foley, Alabama. Arthur was the eldest son of Ameilo and Mary Petrilena, born July 4th 1924 in Colliers, West Virginia. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Teresa. Arthur met his bride Teresa Joan Barilaro on a blind date, December 21st. 1949, the couple married October 21st, 1950 and spent 61 blessed years together. Arthur was a devoted father to Linda Spiccia, married to Michael Spiccia, residing in Crown Point, Indiana and Mary Ann Petrilena, married to Jonathan L. Wiesner, residing in Waccabuc, New York. Grandfather to Britta Wiesner of Atlanta, Georgia, Patricia Spiccia of Crown Point Indiana and Spencer Wiesner of Waccabuc, New York. Arthur work for Standard Steel and Dravo Corporations for over 40 years. He and Teresa retired in 1990 and relocated to Gulf Shores Alabama and Waccabuc, New York. Arthur was an avid sportsman, enjoyed the outdoors, had great appreciation for nature, gardening and numerous building projects. He was an accomplished golfer, sportsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Petrilena courageously served his country in the military as an army corporal during World War 11. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 110 infantry and was awarded a Purple Heart of Honor for his service. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 14th at the Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama at 10 am.
