Virginia B. Bodiford

FOLEY, AL Mary Virginia Dare Buntley Bodiford 90 years of age, a native of Mulberry, TN and a resident of Live Oak Assisted Living in Foley, Al died Monday, October 22, 2012 in Foley, AL. Mrs. Bodiford graduated from Berry High School in Rome, GA.  She attended Montevello, Florida State University and received her B.S. degree from Berry College in Rome Georgia.  Mrs. Bodiford received her Master’s Degree from University of South Alabama.  She taught school for 34 years including Foley Elementary, Brentwood in Pensacola, Winder, GA, Durham, NC and Chipley, FL.  Mrs. Bodiford was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend William A. Bodiford.  She attended Swift Presbyterian Church and Spanish Fort Methodist, was a member of Pickin Friends Dulcimer Group, and Foley Garden Club. Mrs. Bodiford is survived by her children: Mark Bodiford (Ruth), Mary Cockerham (Mike), and Martha Cokonougher (Terry) and Grandchildren: Michael Cockerham (Melissa), Joey Cockerham (Sara), Jimmy Cockerham (Alexandra), Joseline Ramirez, Elizabeth Bodiford; Greatgrandchildren: Arianna Agosto and Mckenzie Cockerham. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, AL Wednesday, October 24, 2012, from 5 PM until 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held from Swift Presbyterian Church, Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 2 PM.  Interment will follow in Swift Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
