Marie K. Metcalfe

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS Marie K. Metcalfe, 94 of Cedar Park, TX went to rest with her heavenly father on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at New Hope Manor Nursing Home in Cedar Park, TX. Marie was born in Thomas, Oklahoma on October 23, 1918 to Martin and Clara Kuzmic. Marie was a very talented seamstress and shared her talents by teaching many students at Miami-Dade College, after retirement Marie continue her passion as a seamstress and also became an expert at quilting, making hand sewn greeting cards and in her later years making jewelry. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t sew; family and friends from Florida to Texas will enjoy her work for years to come. Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Captain Frank H. Metcalfe and her daughter Ann Martin. Marie was also preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Benskin, Dora Lea Hilton and brother Frances Kuzmic. Marie is survived by her son Frank H. Metcalfe and his wife, Darla Metcalfe of Round Rock, Texas and her grandchildren Dawn (George) Teufel, Matthew Metcalfe, Nataly (Mike) Rulmyr and her great grandchildren, Allen Nipper, Nicky Teufel and Sailor Rose Rulmyr. Marie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at New Century Hospice and New Home Manor Nursing Home for their love and support in her final days. Visitation will be held at Wolf-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
