Lowery Foley On January 2, 2015, God welcomed to heaven Lucile Howard Lowery. Lucile was born on December 4, 1921, in the community of Wing near Andalusia, Alabama to Will and Susie Knight Howard. Lucile attended Pleasant Home School near Andalusia. She and her husband moved to Gulf Shores in the early 1950’s and operated a service station and garage for many years. She was one of the few remaining “Old Timers” who remembered Gulf Shores as a small community where you knew all the locals. She retired from Solutia (Foville) in January of 1987. She was a faithful Christian who prayed and read her bible daily. Her life was built on her faith, family, love of country and a strong work ethic. She looked forward to the visits with her pastor, Reverend Ryan Cramer. She loved her family especially her grandson Bart, the apple of her eye. She enjoyed cooking and serving her family their favorite foods. Lucile enjoyed visits with family and friends and especially the little ones, Kate, Jane, Emma (daughters of Lisa Hamburg Bastin) Ava and Jack (Daughter and son of Leigh Anne Hamburg Fleming). Lucile loved the outdoors and her gardening advice will be sorely missed by her beloved son-in-law Fred and her country cooking tips by her daughter Jewel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, daughter, Judy, son Marvin and brothers, Beryl and Knight. Lucile is survived by a daughter, Jewel her husband, Fred and a grandson Bart, his wife Marguerite, Sister Isabelle Mosley as well as beloved nieces, nephews and their families.
