John Medynski

John J. Medynski, age 91, native of New Mexico and resident of Daphne, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Bay Minette, AL. John was a US Navy veteran serving 23 years in the Armed Services. He began his career in Field Service work in the Northwest which led to world travel.  Mr. Medynski was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. John was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Catherine Medynski and a son, Ron Stratis.  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Medynski of Daphne;  daughter, Constance S. (Richard) McRae of Spanish Fort; two sisters, Judith Cable of Midland, OH, Sophia Medynski of Chicago, IL; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Stratis of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Ronda Garvin of Birmingham, Christina (Michael) Hunt of Mobile, Nicholas (Rebecca) McRae of Birmingham and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. A Graveside service will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Alabama State Veteran Cemetery, Spanish Fort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
