Harlan Bankester

BANKESTER SPANISH FORT, ALABAMA   Harlan Lee Bankester, Age 76, a lifelong  resident of Spanish Fort, AL passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015.   He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed gardening with his grandchildren, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a graduate of the University of Alabama, avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and was an Eagle Scout . Mr. Bankester was a member of East Pointe Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and  served as a Deacon, he loved his family and community and was fortunate to be able to coach his children and grandchildren in sports.   Mr. Bankester is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Evelyn Bankester.   Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Carolyn Bankester of Spanish Fort who he loved and cherished; two daughters, Kandy (Jeff) Chastain of Fairhope, AL and Kelly (Chuck) Strunk of Statham, GA; one son, Blake ( Frances) Bankester of Southlake, TX; one brother, Mel (Jean) Bankester of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Beth Dixon of Daphne, AL; ten grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Trey, Brooke, Anna, Jackson, William, Benny, Kendyll and Sawyer.   A Celebration of  Harlan’s  life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11:00 am  at East Pointe Baptist Church.   ARRANGEMENTS BY WOLFE-BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, INC. 27409 U.
