Robert Stanford Woltman, age 89, a longtime resident of Griffin, GA and a current resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015. Mr. Woltman was born in Philadelphia, PA. He joined the Navy after high school and served 4 years in the Pacific during WWII. Mr. Woltman attended the University of Alabama and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He graduated with honors with a Batchelor of Science degree. Mr. Woltman also played football for the Crimson Tide and was an avid fan and active alumni. He received a Master's in Engineering from Georgia Tech and was a member of the Alpha Phi Mu Industrial Engineering Honor Society. He was a retired Professional Engineer from The William Carter Company. While employed he was an active member in the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and past President of Region IV. Mr. Woltman was a Board Registered Professional Engineer and received The AIIE Region IV Outstanding Industrial Engineer Award in 1972. In 1980 he received a Roofing Construction degree from Auburn University School of Engineering. Mr. Woltman was preceded in death by his son, Barry Ludwig Woltman. He is survived by his daughter, Misty W. Cannatella and her husband Salvadore of New Orleans, LA; son, Robert S. Woltman, Jr. of Marianna, FL; grandson, Barry Jackson Maulding of Fairhope; many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Tamera's Downtown in Fairhope, AL. Saturday, September 26. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
