Bryan Wood Johnson, age 87, a resident of Fairhope, AL was welcomed to his heavenly home by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth (Jones) Johnson. He was also met by his predeceased parents, Norwood and Emma Johnson, brothers and sisters, Althea Littleton, Lewis Johnson, Doris Robinson, Mabel Thompson, Norwood Johnson, Julia Pratt Gaidis and Catherine DeGrandchamp. He is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was raised in Thorsby, Al where he graduated from Thorsby Institute. He earned his electrical engineering degree from Auburn University, where he also met his adored wife. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Following graduation, he embarked on his career path in engineering first with Alabama Power Company, followed by management positions in the cement manufacturing industry most notably with Lone Star and Holcim cement companies. He and Mary Elizabeth were blessed with 50 years of marriage and the excitement of living in various lovely locations in the US and Canada, but in retirement chose to return to their home state of Alabama and elected to make their home in Fairhope. Bryan loved his Lord and Savior and was an active member of Fairhope United Methodist Church as long as his health permitted. A celebration of Mr. Johnson’s life will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairhope United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Fairhope United Methodist Church, 155 South Section Street, Fairhope, AL 36532.
