Dennis A. Carr

FAIRHOPE Dennis A. Carr, 77, of St. Petersburg and Fairhope, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Bay Pines VA Health Care System. Born in Columbus, OH in 1932. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1956. He was a United States Navy veteran Korean War. He served 30 years with the Federal Government, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development from 1956-1986. He worked in the Southern Region of HUD and contributed to the planning and development of small cities throughout the South. He was the son of Sara and Andrew Carr. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Shirley M. Carr of Fairhope, AL, sons, Dennis A. Carr, Jr. of Birmingham, AL, Jeffrey A. Carr of Cincinnati, OH, daughters, Tracy L. Harbert of Chicago, IL, Toni L. Paulus of St. Louis, MO, Kendra R. Epstein of St. Louis, MO, and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 11:00 am, from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time.
