William Harold Avant, Jr.

FAIRHOPE , AL Mr. William Harold Avant, Jr., age 58, a native of Mobile, AL, and a resident of Fairhope, departed this life, June 30, 2010. Born January 21, 1952, he attended Murphy High School , graduating in 1969, and graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Accounting.  Harold was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.  He retired from the real estate development industry. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. William Harold Avant, Sr. and May Reed Avant. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Alletta Turner Jackson-Avant of Fairhope , AL , daughter, Catherine Avant Jones (Schuyler), step-children, Alletta Eleanor Beryl Jackson of Tampa , FL, Francis Scott Kinsey (Summer) of Ft. Lauderdale , FL , and Wil Kinsey of Orange Beach , AL , siblings, Thomas Reed Avant (Grace) of Mountain Brook , AL , and Glen Harvey Avant of Mobile , AL , grandchildren, Caroline and Andrew Jones and Aiden Pierce O’Connell Kinsey. Harold loved his wife, Alletta, and his four-legged companion, Mimi. A Celebration of Life, with family and friends, is planned on Saturday, July 3, 2010, from 2-4 pm at 56 White Avenue , Fairhope , AL . In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 19059 Greeno Rd , Suite A, Fairhope , AL 36532 .
