MONTROSE, AL Kevin Layne Gilmore died at home on August 25, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Kevin was born April 15, 1956, in Anniston, AL.  He had a green thumb, and was forever rooting new plants and encouraging them to thrive.   He worked most of his life with food—growing it, cooking it, selling it.  Kevin served as grill master for many family cookouts.  He also loved fishing, playing guitar, listening to Jimmy Buffet, and having a good drink and good times with friends.   Kevin leaves behind many who will miss him greatly.  He leaves his wife, Thérèse Impastato Gilmore, and their children, Andrew, Patrick, Joseph, Sarah, Nathan, and Luke Gilmore, all of Montrose, AL.  He leaves his mother-in-law, Poe M. Impastato, of Montrose, AL, and his father-in-law, T.P. “Red” Impastato, of Lacombe, LA; his brothers and sisters-in-law: John and Rose Impastato Metzger; Keyser and Becky Impastato; Nelson and Ivania Impastato; Gus and Fara Impastato Bakhtiar, all from Mobile and Baldwin counties; Hagan and Mary Impastato Waller from FL; Sam Impastato from MS; Philip Impastato from DE; John Impastato from OH; Joseph Impastato, and Steve and Génie Impastato Lorentzen, from CA.  He leaves numerous nieces and nephews, too:  Dean and Cheryl Metzger Peiskee, and Leah Metzger from TX; Michelle Waller from CO; Erin and Dylan Waller, from FL; David, Analisa, Katy, Connor, Max, and Christian Impastato, from Fairhope; Guiseppe and AnaMaria Impastato, from DE; Frankie, Briar, Kaden Impastato, and Laura and David Valverde, from Mobile; Nazanine, Jaleh, and James Cyrus Bakhtiar, from Mobile; Stephen and Taylor Lorentzen, from CA; and Chris and Wendy Beals, from Oxford, AL.  He also leaves a great-nephew and great-nieces:  Jack and Gracie Beals from Oxford , AL, and Rebecca Peiskee from Fort Worth, TX. Kevin’s wake will be Friday, August 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.  The funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 28, at 2 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope.
