d. August 29, 2010

FAIRHOPE, AL Inez Bishop Leavins peacefully went to sleep in death on Sunday, August 29, 2010. She was born in 1917 in Barnwell, AL to parents Robert Bishop and Kathleen Moore who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her husband of 59years, Gerald Leavins, and their infant son, Robert Zenus Leavins. Her deceased siblings are Johnnie Bishop, L. C. Bishop, Claude Moore Johnson, and Margie Johnson. Survivors include daughter, Geraldine L. Cain; son-in-law, Geoffrey Cain; siblings Kathleen Logan and Dorothy Moss, numerous nieces and nephews, many other close friends and relatives. Special thanks is given to Nancy Wright who has provided her with loving care and assistance for the past two and a half years. Inez will be remembered as having an insatiable thirst for acquiring Bible knowledge and this quest led her to spend most of her life sharing the Good News of God’s Kingdom with family, friends and neighbors alike. Her many Bible students became a part of her close knit family for the rest of her life. She remarkably exuded a giving spirit with genuine warmth and enthusiastic personal appeal, instilling in everyone her hope of a resurrection to eternal life in a Paradise New Earth based on her faith in Jesus’ words in His Sermon on the Mount. A private graveside service was held at Brook Cedron Cemetery, Barnwell AL. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses on Gayfer Avenue in Fairhope AL.
