C.L. Mershon

FAIRHOPE, AL C. L. Mershon, Jr., age 94, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at home. He is preceded in death by his father, C.L. Mershon Sr., who was the first Medical Doctor in the Fairhope vicinity, his mother, Bertha Maye Bowers, daughter, Caroldeen Mershon Verbeck, sister, Ruth Mershon Lanicca, and brother, Dr. Ronald B. Mershon. Mr. Mershon was an Auburn Graduate of the class of 1941. He began working immediately with Westinghouse as an electrical and aero-space engineer. In Lima, OH., his duties were manager of engineering until 1970, when he retired. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Willodene (Dene) Harmon Mershon of Fairhope, AL, and his son, C.L. (Buzz) Mershon, III, of Alpharetta, GA. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 3:00 pm, at Montrose Cemetery.
