Alan Lee Rollins, affectionately known as "Al," was born on April 16, 1950, in San Diego. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on December 28, 2025.
Alan was a man of many talents and unwavering dedication. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. Following his military service, he embarked on a diverse career, becoming a respected owner-operator truck driver for ten years. His skills also extended to being a print press operator for many years and a mechanic for most of his life, showcasing his ability to adapt and excel in various roles.
Known for his unique sense of humor, Alan had a remarkable gift for bringing joy to those around him. His laughter was infectious, and he was always ready to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke. Those who knew him appreciated not only his humor but also his one-of-a-kind personality and his passion for the people and things he loved dearly.
Alan found happiness in simple pleasures, whether it was playing pool, following motorsports, or delving into his passions for aviation and military history. His adventurous spirit was also evident in his love for jumping from operational airplanes, simply for the thrill of it. Additionally, he cherished his vast collection of model cars and aviation memorabilia, each piece reflecting his interests and experiences.
More than anything, Alan was renowned for his kindness and willingness to help others. He took great pride in offering assistance to anyone in need, a reflection of his generous character. This quality earned him numerous relationships and lasting friendships throughout his life.
He leaves behind his beloved family, including his daughters, Johanna Rollins and Dawn Rollins; his grandchildren, Jorja Rollins, Victoria Rollins, Hope Davis, Harley Davis, Jasmine Jensen, and Meghan Rollins; his brothers, Michael Rollins and Jamie Rollins; and his sisters-in-law, Heather Rollins and Pat Rinnert.
Alan was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Hughes; and his parents, Adam Rollins and Nola Rollins.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on January 20, 2026, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama, providing family and friends a chance to say their final goodbyes and celebrate his remarkable life. Alan Lee Rollins will be remembered for his love, laughter, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him.
