Ms. Alice Fay Chambers Brady, 82, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama.
Alice was born to Ina and C.O. Chambers on May 22, 1943, in New Orleans. Following World War II, her family moved to Ocean Springs, Mississippi. In 1961, she graduated from Sacred Heart Parochial School in Biloxi, Mississippi. Upon graduating from the Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1964, she worked for the hospital and went on to work for the U.S. public health department.
She received her bachelor’s degree in health science at Holy Cross University in New Orleans while working and later received her master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Alice loved working in the operating room and was known for her big heart and enthusiasm to help those in need when they needed it most.
She was a president of the New Orleans chapter of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), of which she attended many conventions during her membership.
A lover of travel and sightseeing, Alice visited many states including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Nevada.
Alice is predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Marie Brady; her brother, Richard Chambers; and her parents.
She is survived by her brother, Felix Charles (Mary) Chambers; her companion, C.W. Brown; her grandchildren, Erin Halley Andrus of New Orleans and Kyle Kiefer of Metairie, Louisiana; and many beloved friends and loved ones.
