Annette Tubbs

d. September 13, 2023

Mrs. Annette Phillips Tubbs, 82, stepped into her eternal home with Jesus on September 13, 2023 at her home in Foley, AL surrounded by family. She loved Jesus and loved listening to the gospel music to worship Him. Annette was born on November 11, 1940 to John Edward Phillips, Sr. and Sarah Ruth Wallace in Mulga, (Jefferson County) AL. She married Mr. Lester B. Tubbs, Jr. on September 4, 1987. Mr. Tubbs preceded Annette in passing. Annette is survived by her daughter, Teresa Lynn Hiller; her grandson, Lawrence M. Threlfall of Colorado Springs, CO; and her granddaughters, Anna Osborn (Nate) of Littleton, CO; Tonia Tomlinson (Josh) of Foley, AL; and Stacy Blackwell of Auburn, AL. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Deacon & Caroline Tomlinson and Levi & Penelope Osborn. Annette was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene Raymond (Sonny) Phillips & John E. (JE) Phillips Jr.; and sister Erah Gay Hawkins. Annette retired from South Central Bell with 30 years of service from 1960-1990. Annette and her husband LB Tubbs, moved to Leisure Lakes in Foley, Alabama in October 2003 where they enjoyed many happy years of retirement. Prior to moving to Foley, they lived in Adamsville, AL. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionally called her “Nette”. She will be deeply missed by her family. No matter what the situation, she always said, “We’ll handle it,” because she was always there to help no matter what the circumstances. She was always pouring love to family having previously taking care of the elders and always the children. The family appreciates any donations to the American Diabetic Association in memory of Annette.
