Barbara Braswell Baggett, 94, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025.
Barbara graduated from St. Vincent Academy in Shreveport, LA and attended South Western Institute, today known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was a woman of many passions—an avid traveler, a graceful horseback rider, and someone who never passed up a good game of golf. Barbara was known for her warm hospitality and her exceptional cooking, often gathering loved ones around the table for delicious meals and lively conversation.
She had a deep appreciation for European history, and she never missed an LSU football game, cheering on her Tigers with spirit and pride. Above all, Barbara cherished her family. Whether at home or away, being with her loved ones brought her the greatest joy.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Lee Baggett; and parents Herbert Braswell and Mary Dulany.
Barbara is survived by her children, Delane (Tom) Cannon, Jean (Raymond) Long, and Joe (Belinda) Baggett, Jr.; grandchildren, Andy (Kelly) Baggett, Alex Baggett, and Kelly Long; great-granddaughter, Lottie Baggett; along with her many other loving relatives and friends.
A graveside service to honor Barbara’s memory will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00am at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
