Bebe Quay Sanders Neal, 95, passed away peacefully at her home on April 21, 2025. Born July 27, 1929 in Paden, Mississippi to Tom and Mae Sanders she lived a life filled with love, laughter, family, friends, school and church.
The family moved to Tuscumbia, Alabama during Bebe’s early teenage years where she later graduated from Deshler High School. After graduation the family moved back to Paden. It was at their small country church that she met her husband-to-be, Bidwell Blake Neal.
Marrying in 1950 the couple moved to Oxford, Mississippi where she worked for the Dean of Engineering at the University of Mississippi while he earned his pharmacy degree. After living in Texas for a brief period, the couple moved to Huntsville, Alabama where daughter Marta was born in 1957. Two years later they bought a drugstore in Florence, Alabama and in 1961 son Blake was born.
During these early years Bebe was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She was involved with her children through school functions, and with the community through her volunteer work with organizations such as UNICEF, the Red Cross and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Having given her life to Christ at age 18, she continued to serve Him as a children’s Sunday School teacher for 34 years, and as a ‘Pink Lady” for the local hospital.
Later on, Bebe got her realtor license and worked in real estate until the death of her husband. She retired to Gulf Shores, Alabama in 1994 to be near her family.
Bebe is survived by her daughter Marta Neal Rogan of Gulf Shores and husband Randy; son Blake Davoren Neal, Sr., of Daphne and wife Daneve; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and extended relatives.
After a memorial service at Wolfe Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama, Bebe will be laid to rest next to her husband of 40 years at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama.
A tribute to this dear lady would not be complete without mentioning her greatest asset…her laugh. She loved to laugh and when she did it brightened a room. May the memory of her love and laughter continue to be felt for years to come.
