Beverly J. Thorley, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 25th.
Beverly played the organ and accordion, showcasing her musical talents and appreciation for music. Her creativity extended to pottery work, where she likely explored various techniques to create beautiful pieces. She had a passion for baking, particularly pastries, suggesting she enjoyed both the art and enjoyment of cooking for herself and others. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She was dedicated to her customs and faith, reflecting a strong sense of identity and commitment to her values.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Emily Meehan, 4 brothers, Wilfrid Meehan, Bernard Meehan, Charles Meehan and Frederick Meehan; 7 sisters, Charlotte Kleitch, Ann Deckert, Betty Ward, Genevieve Krueger, Marie Hunter, Mildreed Sikes, and Josephine Hess.
She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Garfield (Gary) Thorley of Spanish Fort, AL., two sons, Scott Thorley (Stacey) of Sterling Heights, Ml, and Todd Thorley (Rhonda) of Spanish Fort, Al. 4 grandchildren, Joshua Bexley of Lucedale, MS, Tyler Bexley (Jenny) of Raleigh, NC, Alexis Harper (Andrew) of Hattiesburg, MS, and Todd Michael Thorley Jr., of Spanish Fort, AL. 2 great-grandchildren, Aubrey Ann Bexley and Beau Harper, several other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos in Spanish Fort on May 1, 2025, at 11:00am. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Mass.
Internment will follow at 1:00 pm in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
