Billy Ray “Billy Bob” Callaway, 74, a resident of Summerdale, Alabama, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Billy Bob aka Paw Paw Billy was born on March 24, 1951, in Foley, Alabama. Billy was a proud graduate of Foley High School Class of 1969 with his best friends, John Govan and Donnie Fuqua. He was old school and old soul. He spent years navigating the sea as a commercial shrimper in the Gulf, later earning his career with countless certifications as a Chief Engineer on sea going tugs and supply boats pushing jet fuel all across the country navigating the Intracoastal canals. He loved his roots, loved to hunt, loved to eat, and loved the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite his battle with Vascular Dementia his navigational beacon could get him literally anywhere from Gulf Shores to Coy, Alabama. He shared 3 beautiful children with Wanda White who he was married to for 28 years. He was blessed with and loved his 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The last 20 years of his life he was married to his wife, Belinda, and together they blended families, leaving Billy with lots of laughter, love and ROLL TIDE football memories.
Billy will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering love for his family, and the life he built through hard work and devotion. He has left his mark on all our hearts of hard work, loyalty and love. He taught his kids to do things right the first time and work hard.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Gloria Callaway; brother, Marion Calvin (MC) Callaway.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Callaway; children, Tamala Linton, Jason Callaway, Aaron Callaway; bonus children, Dawn Williams and Bubba Chance; grandchildren, Ryan Woodward, Kayce Koenig, Amberly Holland, Kelsey Callaway, Khloe Callaway, Kynleigh Callaway, Austin Harrison, Jason Harrison, London Harrison; bonus grandchildren, Austin, Adrian, Landon, Connor and Maddie; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Camille, Ellie and Atlas, bonus great grandchildren: Lainey and Hallie; his sister, Marilyn Callaway Coleman; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mike and Ryan Dunbar of Alethia Senior Care, as well as Barb Roca and Christina of Springhill Hospice, for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness shown to Billy during his final voyage.
Funeral services will be held at Fisherman Baptist Church in Bon Secour, AL on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11:00am.
The family will begin receiving friends for Visitation one hour prior to service.
