Billy Damon Mahan

Billy Damon Mahan, age 74, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Billy was born in Charlestown, Indiana, was a longtime resident of Butler, Alabama, and lived the last 16 years of his life in Baldwin County, Alabama. He was a United States Navy Veteran, served the Butler Volunteer Fire Department as the Assistant Fire Chief for 30 years, retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Company after 33 years, and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shaun Mahan and parents, Laymon and Olive Mahan. Billy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Katherine Banta Mahan; son, Billy J. (Kerri) Mahan; daughter, Patricia M. (Mark) McVay; grandchildren, William Barrett Mahan, Logan (Courtney) McVay, Kayden (Courtney) Mahan, and Chance (Chandler) McVay; and many other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama, on September 14th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley, AL, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
