Bradford Kirk Deyton, born June 7, 1961, in Owensboro, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on April 9, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida. Brad was also an organ donor and, in his passing, gave the gift of life to others. He was a devoted family man, a proud patriot, and a dedicated public servant whose life was marked by kindness, friendship, and an enduring commitment to helping others.
Bradford’s career was distinguished by his unwavering service to his community and country. He retired from the City of Fairhope, where he was well respected and known for his dedication. Prior to his retirement, he served as a volunteer fireman and as a member of the Fairhope Auxiliary Police, embodying a spirit of selflessness and courage. In addition to his civic contributions, Bradford honorably served as a Military Police Sergeant in the Army National Guard, a role that reflected his deep patriotism and commitment to protecting others.
Brad’s loving nature was evident in all aspects of his life, especially in how he cherished and prioritized time with his family. Fond memories of gathering around the grill on his Big Green Egg and sharing joyous family occasions will remain a lasting testament to his warmth and generosity.
Bradford is lovingly remembered by his wife, Maureen F. Deyton of Fairhope; his sons David Deyton and wife Hayden of Fairhope, Alabama, and Adam Deyton and wife Molly of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his daughter Olivia Carlson of Fairhope, Alabama; his son Matthew Deyton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his stepson Matthew Bass and wife Gail Pietrangelo of Lexington, Kentucky; and his stepdaughter Caitlin Bass of Fairhope, Alabama. He is also survived by brother Ronald D. Deyton of Fairhope Alabama; brother Daniel L Deyton and wife Poppi Deyton of Fairhope Alabama, and brother Thomas C Deyton and wife Sandy Deyton of Owensboro Kentucky. He took immense pride in his four granddaughters, Aubrey Carlson, Karlie Carlson, Skylar Prothro, and Isabella Naman, all from Fairhope. In addition, he is survived by numerous loving nephews, nieces, and extended family members residing throughout the United States and Europe.
Bradford was preceded in death by his father, Dr. H. C. Deyton; his mother, Deloris Layman Deyton; his brother, Glen D. Deyton; and his nephew, John Michael Deyton. Their memories and legacies live on deeply in the hearts of those who knew him.
Bradford’s life will be honored with a visitation at Fairhope Chapel, located at 19698 S Greeno Rd, Fairhope, AL 36532, on April 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the same location on April 16, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, 34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577, starting at 2:00 p.m.
Bradford Kirk Deyton’s legacy is one defined by his steadfast dedication to service, his patriotism, and the kindness he extended to all. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. May his soul find eternal peace.
