Carla Lee Middleton

Carla Lee Middleton, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away on November 27, 2024, at the age of 54. She was born in Fairhope, Alabama, to Oscar and Carolyn Richardson.

Carla Middleton was the youngest of 3 children behind Rita (Richardson)Vaughn and Keith Richardson. Carla graduated from Fairhope High School in 1989 and graduated from University of South Alabama in 1998 with a degree in Education. She taught at Magnolia School for 25 years and retired in 2024. 

After being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2022, she fought hard and gave it everything she had to come back to finish out her last 6 months of teaching so she could retire with 25 years of service after taking a year off to get treatment. She fought hard to the very end against all odds just to have more time with her family. She was always thinking of others instead of worrying about herself even in her weakest moments. She made sure to thank all the nurses who took care of her during treatment and when she was in and out of the hospital this past year. 

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, John R. Middleton, and their 3 children, Ean Middleton 20, Brennan Middleton, 16 and Carlen Middleton, 15. 

Carla enjoyed her career teaching and enjoyed going on vacations yearly to Orlando with her family and in the summer spending time with her family boating on the river or going to the beach. She will be sorely missed by her lifelong friends, family and coworkers. 

A celebration of Carla’s life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 7:00pm at the Wolfe-Bayview Fairhope Chapel. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm.
