Carrie Nell Burch Kirkland age 101 years old of Gulf Shores Alabama passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026. She was born on April 8, 1925 in Brewton Alabama to Carrie Pierce Burch and Thomas Moore Burch.

Carrie was a devoted homemaker with a generous heart, who found joy in caring for those around her. She was an enthusiastic lover of coffee and sweets, who never passed up the thrill of a great bargain. She cherished every moment she spent with her children and grandchildren, always offering a warm smile, genuine appreciation and a little keen advice. Her faith was steady and personal, dedicated to the words of scripture and prayer. In her final days, she wanted each person to know just how deeply she loved them.

A long time member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola, she was proud to be their oldest living member.

She is survived by her three children James Michael Kirkland, Pamela Susan Kirkland McMillon and Mary Katherine Kirkland Flowe, her 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse Frank James Kirkland, Jr., her parents, siblings and other extended family.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday May 29th at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Chapel, Pensacola Florida. Visitation begins at 10:30 am and a reception to follow in the atrium.
