Chandra Williams Ford

Chandra Williams Ford, of Fairhope, Alabama, born on August 3, 1967 in Bitburg, Germany to Clois E. Williams and M. Carol Williams passed away on October 18, 2026.

Chandra lived in Bitburg until age 3 then moved to Marietta, Georgia where she attended The Walker School through graduation and Marietta First Baptist Church until age 22. She attended Auburn University earning a degree in elementary education where she met her husband of 35 years Daniel (Danny) T. Ford. After college, Chandra was an elementary education teacher for 7 ½ years at schools located in Atlanta, Georgia, Mobile and Fairhope, Alabama. She moved to Mobile in 1990. During her first two years teaching in Mobile, she earned a Masters Degree in Education at Spring Hill College.

Two years after the birth of their first child, Chandra wanted to “work,” and it is work, being a full-time stay at home mom and doing so for 19 years caring for 7 children. Proving that she was “Supermom,” Chandra during those 19 years co-founded a fun activity-based program for pre-K children at Fairhope’s Recreation Center called Jump Wiggle and Giggle. She became the Director of Children’s Religious Education at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope and volunteered at Christ the King Catholic School in Daphne once a week creating Writer’s Workshop to develop students writing skills. “Twisted Fairy Tales” was a favorite writing project of the students. Chandra being a “convert Catholic,” saw the need to enhance Vacation Bible School at St. Lawrence. For the past 25 years, Chandra’s vision, creative ideas and content development, led the VBS program with the help of so many other volunteers and created a special themed-based environment that transformed the church’s family life center for the children to learn more about the Catholic faith through creative skits, imaginative classroom instruction, and awesome craft-making. She loved VBS.

For the past 10 years, Chandra was a teacher at Christ the King Catholic School where she taught literature to middle school students. She loved her students, fellow teachers, staff and the entire CTK community. Chandra also loved her weekly holy hour at CTK’s Adoration Chapel every Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 am.

Chandra’s greatest passion in life was being a mother to 7 children, which was her most amazing teaching accomplishment. She absolutely loved being a mother to her children. Her devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, helped her in the journey of motherhood and life itself. She loved watching her kids many sporting events, ballet dances, reading, hosting birthday parties, family and friend celebrations, spending time on Mobile Bay and the gulf beaches, decorating for Halloween and Christmas, and being present for someone in their life. Her favorite activity was spending time with her husband, children, extended Ford and Wilson families and friends. Chandra was a joy to be around and will be missed by so many.

Chandra leaves behind her husband Danny, 7 children, David, Jacob (Katie), Peter (Isabella), Mary (Connor), William, Katy, and Lizzy, 3 grandchildren, Willa, Nina and Francis, mother, Carol Williams, and brother, Kirk Williams. She was predeceased by her father Clois Williams.

The family expresses its thanks to the doctors, nurses and therapists at Mobile Infirmary Medical Clinic, Rotary Rehabilitation Hospital and Thomas Wellness Center for their great care provided to Chandra and to the extended Ford and Wilson families, friends, the CTK and St. Lawrence communities, and employees at Spire for their amazing outpouring of prayers and support for Chandra and our family since late May 2026. We are truly grateful and humbled by your kindness and love that made a significant impact on Chandra and our family and will continue to help us cope and heal during this journey without our beloved wife, mom, daughter, and sister.

A visitation will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope on Thursday, October 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 with a rosary beginning at 7:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church on Friday, October 23 at 11:00 by celebrant Father Steven Williams. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Chandra Ford Scholarship Fund at Christ the King Catholic School located in Daphne, Alabama. Donations can be made by mail, in-person or through the school website at https://ctkcsdaphne.org/chandra-ford-scholarship-fund
