Charles “Buddy” Danne

Charles Lamar Danne, known by most as "Buddy," passed away on Mar 25, 2026 in Fairhope, the very place where he was born.

Having spent his entire life on Danne Road, deeply rooted in the farming community, Buddy established  many friendship's early on that he valued dearly and were more like family. This was just who he was.

While sometimes quiet and laid back, Buddy had a great way with connecting to people. A simple afternoon stop for a cold beer after a long days work, built yet another extended family at River Park Marina now known as Big Daddy’s. Buddy played an important role in the lives of many, to include some young men who worked summers on the farm. Leon, Clifton & Bengi Taylor are fine examples of these young men and they all remained close until his passing. No matter which path he took, Buddy never met a stranger — he always seemed to pick up a friend or two along the way.

“Danne Dirt” came to life about 35 years ago as Buddy transitioned out of farming, but his work ethic never changed.  Over the last 8 years, Buddy began teaching the business to his daughters, his future son-in-law Jessie Touchstone (Terri) has played a major role in the day to day operations.  Over the years, he worked hard to build something meaningful — a legacy for his girls — and that is exactly what he leaves behind.

Buddy loved to ride in his truck in the back fields and we’d sometimes catch him taking a short catnap. We hope his dreams became his vision and his vision came to fruition. We could not be more proud than to call him our dad who we will miss and love for all of eternity.

Buddy will be missed by so many, but especially by his girls.

He is survived by his brother Max Danne and his Sister Eva Hardy, (Charles) as well as his daughters Devonne Danne Feely (Dan), Terri J Danne (Jessie Touchstone) and Jeana Dillon. His legacy extends through his grandchildren: Cierra Dillon (Dalton Moore) Chris Dillon, Cassidy Dillon Davis (Cody), Cody Dillon, Colten Dubuisson, and Caylyn Dubuisson. Buddy also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Jax & Jenny Lynn Moore, Nicolas (Nico) Dillon, and Carsyn Jean Davis, John & Jason Danne (Nephews) and many other’s who carry forward his memory with love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cyndy Danne (Jarvis), his parents Julius W Danne and Evelyn Danne Tilley (Nelson), his brother John Danne, and nephew Chuck Hardy.
