Charlotte Zundel, July 19, 1947 – Forever Fashionably Late

Charlotte Zundel, born July 19, 1947, has finally decided to rest—presumably because she ran out of people to boss around, stories to tell, and snacks to hand out whether you wanted them or not.

Charlotte was the proud and occasionally very opinionated mother of three:

• Scott, who wisely married Ashlee,
• Lisa, who found her match in Michael, and
• Doug, who joined forces with Tiffany.

She was the grandmother of five beloved humans: Courtney, Cameron, Morgon, Gabriel, and Peyton, each of whom learned essential life lessons from her—mostly about sarcasm, stubbornness, and how to survive family gatherings.

Charlotte leveled up to great-grandmother status with Mason, Lily, and Margo, whom she adored completely and planned to spoil thoroughly, budget permitting or not.

She was the sister of Claudia, Patricia, and Bobby, who can now expect Charlotte to continue running things from wherever she is—because retirement was never really her style.

Charlotte will be remembered for her sharp wit, selective hearing, strong opinions, and her remarkable ability to be both absolutely right and completely unapologetic about it. She had a laugh that lingered, a presence that filled rooms, and a talent for making memories that will be retold (and exaggerated) for generations.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply, laughed with her often, and will forever hear her voice saying, “Well, I wouldn’t have done it that way.”

In lieu of flowers, please argue passionately about something trivial, tell a good story, or have dessert first—Charlotte would have wanted it that way.
