It is with profound sadness and faith-filled hope in the Resurrection that we announce the peaceful passing of Christopher John McCarthy, 62, of Fairhope, Alabama. With his loving wife by his side and fortified by the Sacraments of the Church, Chris entered eternal life on June 19, 2026.

Chris was born on November 26, 1963, to the late John and Kathleen McCarthy. The McCarthys were devout parishioners at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where Chris attended the parish school and faithfully served as an altar server.

Chris and his brothers grew up in Central Florida, where he developed his skills as a carpenter and builder at an early age. He graduated from Winter Park High School and later earned his degree from Valencia Community College. He went on to lead a successful career in the construction industry, earning both his Roofing and General Contractor licenses. From running a roofing company and serving as Vice President at Scenicworks, to building grow houses in Colorado and becoming a successful residential contractor in Florida and Alabama, Chris infused quality and integrity into every project. He took great pride in his work, and frequently called his customers "friends" by the time a job was finished.

Above all his professional success, Chris was a man of deep faith. He found great strength in his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, nurtured by his family and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Chris’s quiet example of friendship, devotion, and steadfast trust in God’s providence inspired everyone who knew him.

Chris married the love of his life, Laura Kay (Gieger), on April 19, 2010, in Key West. Together they shared over 16 years of marriage marked by mutual support, humor, prayer, and unwavering love. Chris was a devoted father to his daughter, Maggie, cherishing their relationship through daily conversations filled with love and encouragement. He also treasured his role as a stepfather to Jonathan and William Young, always remaining available to offer guidance, wisdom, and support. A deeply loyal friend, Chris possessed a servant’s heart and was always entirely available to those he cared about, never hesitating to offer his time, strength, or support whenever called upon. Above all, he consistently put his faith and family first.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Kay; his daughter and the joy of his life, Margaret Noblit (Conner); his stepsons, Jonathan Young (Sarah) and William Young; his grandchildren, Holden, Olivia, and Aurora; his brothers, Michael J. McCarthy (Crystal), Mark J. McCarthy (Eileen), and Stephen McCarthy; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 North Park Avenue, Winter Park, FL. In celebration of Chris’s vibrant and impactful life, attendees are warmly invited to wear their favorite Jimmy Buffett-style attire. Following the mass, family and friends are cordially invited to gather for a reception to further honor Chris’s life and legacy at Fiddler's Green Irish Pub & Eatery, 544 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, FL.
