Claude Willis Arnold, Jr.

Claude Willis Arnold Junior was more than a brother, a father, and a Navy Captain—he was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. Born on September 25, 1969, Willis entered this world with a spirit that was impossible to contain. He lived with purpose and passion, always grounded in the close-knit community of Fairhope, Alabama—a town he carried with him no matter how far his service took him. Willis’s military career was defined by honor, courage, and unwavering dedication. As a Navy Captain, he led with integrity and inspired those around him. But beyond the uniform was a man of rhythm and heart. Willis was a passionate dancer, especially known for his clogging, and he brought joy and energy to every gathering. Whether on a dance floor or at a backyard barbecue, he had a way of lighting up a room and inviting others into the celebration of life. He carried this same spirit into his role as a father. Willis is survived by four Sons: Brandon, Seth, Richard, and Evan and one granddaughter: Millie. He is lovingly remembered by Seth and Richard's mother, Kirby Arnold, who shared many years of partnership and parenting by his side. He offered guidance, strength, and perhaps most importantly, a living example of pursuing life wholeheartedly to each of them. His lessons were never just spoken—they were shown in how he treated others, gave of himself, and celebrated even the smallest moments. Willis, the son of Claude and Dian Arnold, was a member of a large and loving family, many of whom still reside in Fairhope. Family gatherings were full of laughter and good-natured teasing, and Willis’s presence was often at the center of it all. His laughter, quick wit, and authentic spirit made him unforgettable. He had that rare ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and better for crossing his path.

To lose Willis is to feel a profound absence, but today, as we celebrate his life, we remember that his light still shines. It glows in the lives of those he loved, the people he led, and every soul lucky enough to dance beside him.

Claude Willis Arnold Junior lived a full life, not just by measure of years but by the depth of experience, connection, and joy. Though we mourn his passing, we also rejoice in the gift of having known him. Let us carry forward his legacy: to live with spirit, to serve with honor, and to always, when given the chance, get up and dance.
