Claudia Jean Sullivan

On December 3, 2025, Claudia Jean (Fowler)Sullivan passed away peacefully at the age of 93 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

She was born on November 17, 1932 in Mobile, AL and lived there all her life. After meeting her husband on a blind date in Mobile, she married Cyril Sullivan, Jr (Sig) in1952 and celebrated her 73rd anniversary on March 8. Jean’s long and prosperous marriage to Sig was a testament to their love and devotion to each other, and in their marriage, they always put trust and faith in God. In addition, she was a loving wife and mother of seven children, in which she instilled in them their faith in God. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, until she moved to Foley, AL in 2019. Jean loved to travel, and together with Sig, they made numerous trips to California with all seven children. Later, in retirement, Jean and Sig’s travels continued in other areas of the United States. Jean was loved by all that knew her, and her greatest treasures were Sig, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Lucille Fowler, her brothers Edwin Fowler, Jr, Robert Fowler her sister Elizabeth Nichols, and her grandson Cyril T Sullivan III.

Jean is survived by her dedicated husband and caregiver, Cyril T. Sullivan, Jr. and her seven children: Michael Sullivan, Karen Owens (Jim), Terry Sullivan (Lindsey), Danny Sullivan (Roxanne), Lee Sullivan (Joy), Melissa Sullivan, and Maureen McKannan; one sister, Barbara McMichael. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with three more great grandchildren on the way.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025 at St. Margret of Scotland Catholic Parish, 601 W Laurel Avenue, Foley, AL 36535.

Visitation will be at the church at 11:00 AM and mass will follow at 12:00PM.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 State Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577.
