Colin Raymond Keleher of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on July 6, 2024.
Colin was born in Leyton, West London, England on September 11, 1934, to Ronald and Dorothy Keleher (nee Marshall). Following a childhood in wartime London, Colin trained as an electrical engineer at Mid-Essex Technical College (now Anglia Polytechnic University) and emigrated to Canada. Colin held engineering jobs in Montreal, Los Angeles, Mobile, San Francisco, and Chicago, and in his retirement was the Treasurer for the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation and a volunteer at Thomas Hospital. He had a deep faith and was active in several churches over the years, most recently at the Church of the Apostle. He enjoyed the outdoors running, biking, and gardening. He also enjoyed reading and using his computer skills to help his community.
Colin was preceded in death by his parents and his first spouse Julia Keleher (nee Walsh) and is survived by his spouse Lottie Keleher (nee Gautney), daughters Colleen (Maarten) Keleher, Cindy (Warren) Kruger, son William (Lisa) Keleher, stepson Tom (Tammy) Gautney, stepdaughter Debbie Steinhauer, 5 grandchildren, and 7 step grandchildren.
The family will gather to honor and remember Colin’s life at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, AL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am. Colin’s life and legacy will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Haven, Fairhope, Ecumenical Ministries Inc., Meals on Wheels, or a charity of your choice.
