Cynthia Lee Bettner, age 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on May 16,2026. Born on February 13, 1957, to Kenneth and Nancy Willcutt, Cynthia was raised in Fairhope, Alabama, and graduated from Fairhope High School. A devoted Catholic, she carried her faith, kindness, and love for family throughout her life.
Cynthia shared a beautiful and enduring love story with her husband and soulmate, Joseph B. Bettner. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, faith, and family, sharing a marriage that was admired by all who knew them. Though Joseph preceded her in death, the bond they shared remained evident in every part of her life.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, artist, and friend whose warmth and creativity touched countless lives. Cynthia had a gift for making people feel welcomed and loved, and she found great joy in spending time with her family and those she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Nancy Willcutt; her beloved husband, Joseph B. Bettner; and her son, James Bettner.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Park and husband KiTae Park; her son, Ryan Bettner and wife Rachael Bettner; her grandchildren, Katlyn Weichman, Bryant Volovecky and wife Liz, Sam Volovecky, Tanner Volovecky, and Chan Geum Park; her great-grandson, Carson Weichman; and several cherished extended grandchildren and loved ones, including Isla Gabriel, Violet Gabriel, and Olive Gabriel.
Cynthia’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her compassion, strength, creativity, and unconditional love.
Services will be held Saturday , May 23, 2026, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a Catholic Mass beginning at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
