DALE EDWARD WILLIAMS, JR
DECEMBER 7, 1953-JUNE 19, 2025

Dale Williams, Jr passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on June 19, 2025, at the Eastern Shore Rehabilitation and Health Center in Daphne, Alabama.

He was born on December 7, 1953, in Warren, Ohio to the late Dale E. Williams and the late Florence Williams. He grew up in Champion, Ohio where he graduated from Champion High school. As a teenager, he received his pilot’s license at age 16 and remained an avid airplane enthusiast. He was an excellent carpenter, woodworker and all-around handyman. These were skills he nurtured well into his golden years. His joy was restoring cars, especially the 1966 Volkswagen bug, which could be seen around Fairhope, Alabama……but only on sunny days.

In 1972 he moved to Springfield, Ohio where he attended Wittenberg University, and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the Brass Choir. Following graduation, he went on to receive his J.D. at The Ohio State University. After graduation he worked in private practice and became an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Franklin County, Ohio as a civil and criminal trial attorney. In 1985 he joined the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of Ohio. He was awarded many commendations for prosecuting complex federal crimes cases involving political corruption, tax evasion, fraud and other economic crimes. He was also admitted to practice as an attorney in The Supreme Court of the United States and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

After 37 years of practicing law in Ohio, he retired to Fairhope, Alabama. He loved the weather, golf, pickleball, walks, sightseeing, traveling and hanging out at the Fairhope Yacht Club. He was admitted to the Alabama bar and enjoyed the camaraderie of the Bar Association meetings and events.

His greatest joy in life was his family. He always looked forward to sporting events, concerts, vacations and all-around fun with them. Dale was a special person with a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marianne Olix Williams; children, Keely Williams (Jason Decker), Dale Williams, III, Charles Williams; sister-in-law, Peggy Olix Benkelman (Barney); brothers-in-law, Gary Olix, Thomas Olix (Susan); many nieces and nephews.
