Daryl Eugene Verner

d. January 12, 2023

Daryl Eugene Verner, age 61, passed away on January 12, 2023, in Fairhope, AL. Daryl was the son of the late Walter Eugene Verner and Marjorie Rieben Verner. He is survived by his sister, Robbie Verner Wood (Richard); his aunt, June Rieben Windham of Biloxi, MS; his uncle, A V Windham, also of Biloxi, and numerous cousins. Daryl was born on May 14, 1961, in Kumasi, Ghana, in West Africa. His nickname of “Kwasi” reflects the Ashanti people of that area. His parents were missionaries, and his childhood was a cycle of three years in Ghana, followed by a year in the states on furlough. He graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, LA. Daryl attended the University of South Alabama, Hines Junior College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was in the National Guard and was called to service in 2001 during the Iraq War. He worked many jobs during his lifetime. Daryl is a Christian and today he is with the Lord. He was an honest person who treated other people fairly. Goodbye Daryl. We will miss you, but will not forget you. A Celebration of Daryl’s Life will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 10:00am at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, AL.
