David Thomas Kennedy

David Thomas Kennedy passed from this world on April 20, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, on January 9, 1951, to parents Hugh and Marguerite Kennedy.

David was a successful entrepreneur who retired at the age of 65. He had many passions and enjoyed running marathons, playing cards, boating, and fishing. Among his greatest joys was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved wife of 25 years, Terri. He was known for his attention to detail and for striving to do his best at everything he did.

He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted and caring grandfather, father, and husband. David is survived by his wife, Terri Browning Kennedy; his three children, David, Megan (Jason), and Justin (Kathleen); his four grandchildren, Nicholas, Finn, Nolan, and Lily; his great grandchildren, Manny, Knox, and Oakley; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his siblings, Rose Mary Wells, Marguerite Dukes, and Claude. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew, his parents, and his brothers, Hugh, Gene, and Pete.

A celebration of David's life will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope, Alabama, on Friday, April 24, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Capital Campaign for St James Episcopal Church in Fairhope or First Light Community of Mobile (formerly L’Arche Mobile, Inc.).

David will be greatly missed. His memory will live on in those who knew and loved him.
