Dawn Johnson Caldwell

Dawn Caldwell, 64, of Lillian, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026.

Dawn had a gift for connecting with people. She could talk to anyone and had a way of making everyone feel instantly comfortable, no matter the situation. She was business-savvy and a wonderful boss who genuinely cared about her employees, always looking out for them and fighting hard on their behalf. Dawn had a deep love for the simple things that brought her joy. She loved flowers and made a point of having fresh flowers in her home every week. She also had a lifelong love of music, especially Steely Dan and The Eagles. Dawn adored her pets, with a special fondness for Australian Cattle Dogs and Russian Blue cats, though she loved all of her animals deeply. Above all, she loved her family and friends beyond measure. She was kind, loyal, protective, and thoughtful. Her presence brought comfort and joy to many. She is deeply loved and greatly missed by all who have been fortunate enough to know her.

Dawn is survived by her stepdaughters, Tammy Simon (Steve) and Jennifer Deep (Jason); her grandchildren, Christopher Wall (Chantal), Patrick Wood, and Lily Deep; and her great-grandchildren, Shelby Wall, Scarlet Wall, and Shyanne Wall. She is also survived by her sisters, Kris Kephart (Jim) and Terri Vance, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Joanne Johnson, and her husband, Corliss Dale Caldwell.

In keeping with Dawn’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Those wishing to honor Dawn may make a memorial donation to the American Heart Association or to a local Humane Society.
