Delvia "Del" Braun Allen was born on July 28, 1931, in Washington Co, AL, to Tommy and Richard Braun and was received by God on Mother's Day, May 10,2026, just shy of 95 years of age.

Highly intelligent, she was able to skip grades and graduate as valedictorian. She soon moved to Mobile, AL, for work and there met and married Orville Allen. After a few years in Washington DC, they were transferred to New Orleans where they both worked for the federal government until retirement. Del worked for the US Dept. of Fish and Wildlife as administrative assistant to Mr. Dave Hall, chief of law enforcement. In addition to her administrative duties, she was able to provide a motherly touch and mentoring guidance to the young incoming game agents. After retirement , they moved to Bon Secour, AL, where they enjoyed Orville's extended family and coastal life.

Del will  lovingly be remembered for her quick wit, intelligence, love and commitment to her family and friends and for her strong Christian faith. She was a communicant of St. Peters Episcopal Church and a dedicated member of Daughter's of the King. Del loved people, plants, animals and reading...traits she passed on to her offspring.

Survivors include daughters, Deborah Drury (Dann), Cynthia Allen MD, son Orville Allen, Jr and grandsons Aaron and Daniel Allen. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Orville Allen, sister Emma Reeves, grandchildren Chelsea and Collin Bergeron and son in law Jon R. Meyer MD.
