Dene J. Long

Dene J. Long, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. She was born on July 25, 1941, in Tuscaloosa, AL to Clarence Johnson and Ruth Brackner Daniel (Fred). She was a 1959 graduate of Brookwood High School. She married Bob Jim Long on October 20, 1962, in Birmingham, AL. Dene truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and was loved by many friends and family. Dene will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother. Dene and her family owned Equipment Sales Co. in Bay Minette, AL for over 25 years serving the community with tractor and lawn mower parts and equipment. Dene loved her customers and cherished their friendships dearly. She was survived by her son Pascal Todd Long; daughter Tammy (Johnny Mack) Thweatt; daughter Tina (Scott) Roberson; grand daughter Amber Henson; grand son Cody Roberson; grand son Chase Roberson; sister Nancy Phillips (James); and sister in law Peggy Johnson. As well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Jim Long, grand son, Tanner Roberson, brother, Jerry Johnson, and niece, Amanda Nivens. A small memorial will be held at a later date to remember the life of Dene Long.
