Dewey Brown, Jr.

On January 6, 2026, Dewey Brown Jr. was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and Savior.

He was born January 11, 1945, and lived a full and rich life of 80 years as a lifelong resident of Fairhope, AL. He was best known as a Faithful Friend with a quick-witted sense of humor.

He was a long-time employee at Mathes of Alabama where he would retire.

1. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Brown Sr., and Margaret Irene Morgan Brown; his wife of 30 years, Margaret Elaine Weston Brown;
2. sisters, Helen (Lavon) Stapleton, Fran (Charlie) Goodell and Agnes (Bobby) Pope) and brother, Lee (Julie) Brown.
3. He is survived by his current wife of 26 years, Carol Ellis Brown; sister, Shirley (Ace) Craig;
4. three sons, Doug (Stacy) Brown, Jason (Ashley) Brown and Stephen (Lisa) Brown;
5. grandchildren, Hannah (Chase) Lambert, Noah Brown, Taylor (Ashlyn) Brown,
6. Caleb (Sydney) Brown, Ethan Brown, Dalton Brown, Declan Brown, Kaden Brown
7. and Morgan Brown; great-grandchildren, Arlo Brown, Beck Brown, Sutton Lambert
8. and Wren Brown, as well as countless other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until time of funeral service at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Silverhill Cemetery following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church.
