Donna Purvis Steele

Donna Purvis Steele (November 15, 1949-June 06, 2022) Born to Kitty and Donald McLeod, Donna was an incredible woman who touched countless lives. She was a devoted wife, an endearing mother, a perfect grandmother, a doting sister, an awarded teacher, a constant friend, a place of comfort on stormy nights, and a wise counsel in all situations. She was an endlessly loving and compassionate woman whose grace knew no bounds. She exemplified the love of Christ to everyone she met and shared ceaseless wisdom. She enjoyed a career touching the hearts and lives of her students in Baldwin County, Alabama, where she happily retired after teaching for over twenty years. She was married to Gary Purvis for thirty years and shared with him four children: Brett (Jennifer), Shelly, Clynt (Kat), and Jonathan. He preceded her in death in December of 2000. Donna was remarried to Don Steele on November 7th, 2003, and gained two additional children: Joey (Diane) and Donna (Robert). Donna and Don traveled extensively throughout and outside of the country for enjoyment and leisure. Finding adventure and joy in every step of their retirement, while always making time to share in the successes of all of their children and grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, Donna is preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary. She is survived by her husband Don; children Brett, Shelly, Clynt, Jonathan, Joey, and Donna; grandchildren Avery, Gracie, Annie, Ana, Ruby June, Shelton, Sarah, Robbie, Kiersten, and Jarrett; 2 great grandchildren; her siblings Carol, Cindy, Pat, and Mark; countless endearing cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was beloved by all who met her and will be missed by many. Thursday, June 9, 2022: 6-8 PM Visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, AL. Monday, June 13, 2022.
