Doris Bernice Graves

Doris Bernice Johnson-Graves, age 77, a resident of Fairhope passed away Friday, May 23, 2025.

Doris retired from the State of Alabama, she worked many years as a volunteer for Ecumenical Ministries in Fairhope and Meals on Wheels.

She was a Devoted Church member of First Baptist Church of Summerdale, served as a Sunday School Director, church hostess, kitchen worker and any needed services including keeping chocolate milk in the refrigerator for church children.

Always focused on her service to the Lord, she was Devoted to family, church family, and friends. She leaves behind two special friends, Carol, and Josephine. Thanks to all her friends who were there for her over the years.

Special thanks to Oscar and Monica for always being there when she called.

Preceded in death by her husband, Billy Thomas Johnson; parents, James Felix Wright, and Annie Ruth Crossley Wright; brothers, James Edward Wright, Earl Dean Wright, William Douglas Wright; sisters, Ida Ruth Wright, Virginia Wright Crowley, Bobbie Jean Frazier and many other relatives and friends.

She is survived by her brother, Samuel Everette (Doris) Wright; sister, Margaret Thompson; sister-in-law, Ruie Wright, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held from Summerdale First Baptist Church, 519 W. Broadway St. Summerdale, AL 36580, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow in Brooke - Cedron Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Gary Wright, Ron Frazier, Ken Frazier, Clayton Stacey, Ethan Wright and Anthony Wright.

Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Duncan, Buddy Stacey, Trent Wright and Jairus Anderson.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Ecumenical Ministries or First Baptist Church of Summerdale.
