Mrs. Edna Grace Garner Petties, born August 10, 1939, was at her home surrounded by her loving family, when she was called home by our Gracious Father and embraced in the arms of Jesus on May 9, 2026.
She was a native and longtime resident of Fairhope, AL.
Edna was a member of Shrine of the Holy Cross Catholic Church where she was a faithful longtime member of the Ladies Altar Rosary’s Society, and Burse Club. Because of Edna’s dedication to the sick and home bound, unconditional love, and hard work when and where needed, Father Rivet named her Bereavement, Sick and homebound Chairperson. She received the Valentine Award for her love of mankind. She was also awarded the Christ the King Medal, which is the highest medal to receive by a lay member of the Catholic Church. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom to her children and grandchildren. Edna loved God, her family, and friends. During her life, she was a dedicated and loyal caregiver for four of her relatives.
