Elizabeth Mears Till

Thelma Elizabeth Mears Till was born on October 17, 1921 in Bothwell, Mississippi. She passed from this life on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alman Till, Sr. and her son, Frank A. Till, Jr. (Brenda), her father, William Levin Mears, Sr., mother, Thelma Jones Mears, brothers, William Levin Mears, Jr. (Nelly), Eugene Mears (Helen), her sisters, Frances Mears Weaver (Harold), Elaine Mears McCraney (Leroy), Shirley Roberta Mears, Theodora ‘Teddy’ Mears, Gwendolyn Juanita Mears, and ‘Baby Boy’ Mears. Survivors include her son David L. Till (Carolyn), daughters Linda T. Jones (Robert), and Nancy E. Carrigan (Keith), brother Arnold Jack Mears (Doris), and sister Gabriella Mears Hendrickson (Charles), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Elizabeth and her husband operated a shoe repair shop in Robertsdale and Fairhope in the early 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. She was a true Proverbs 31 lady and the best wife, mother, ‘mamaw’, and friend. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 11:00am at the Fairhope Memory Gardens with Ray Reynold’s officiating.
