Evelyn Martha Weeks

Evelyn Martha Collins Weeks, a lifelong resident of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Evelyn was born on November 3, 1946, to Liston and Vivian Collins. She was married to Alvarez Weeks, and they proceeded to have two daughters, Wanda and Malinda. Evelyn was a teacher at Head Start for twenty-two years and also became a chef at the Shrimpboat Restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Liston Collins and Vivian Gertrude Eslava Collins; her husband, Alvarez Weeks; two brothers, Jerome Collins and Dawn Collins; three sisters, and three brothers-in-law, Juanita and Leroy Dolihite, Yvonne and Les Stump, Cleo and Larry Wheaton.

Evelyn known as “Web”, “Webby” but mostly “MeMe” is survived by her siblings, Larry Collins, and Alan Collins, Phyllis Collins and Lucille Doffee.

She left a legacy behind in her two daughters, Wanda and Raven L. Pope, Sr., and their two children Raven Lee Pope, Jr., and Diayonna Ann-Marie Pope; daughter, Malinda Weeks, and her two children, Curtis Maxwell Alvarez Weeks and Laionni Bianca Weeks.

Evelyn’s pride and joy was her four grandchildren. All her accomplishments teaching at Head Start gave her so much pride. Being a chef was her love as she loved to cook for others to make them smile. She adored all of her nieces and nephews and their families.

She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, and a large loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 11:00am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Magnolia Springs, AL. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior for Visitation. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, 10800 St Johns Ln, Foley, AL 36535.
