Frances Hill Rhodes, a resident of Foley, Alabama, was born on July 23, 1942 in Brantley, Alabama, and passed peacefully in her sleep on August 14, 2025. Frances' family and close friends fondly knew her as Fran, Momma, and Nana. She was a beloved teacher, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Frances grew up in Brantley, Alabama, and dedicated more than 40 years of her life to education, teaching hundreds of people around the world to read and write. Her commitment to helping those most in need left an indelible mark on countless lives, and her legacy of compassion and service will continue to ripple far beyond her years.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Stinson Odell Hughes and Ollie Joe Hughes, and her brother, Broughton "Russel" Hughes. She is survived by her son, Thomas “Alan” Hughes, Sr. (Tina); her three grandchildren, Thomas Hughes Jr. Esq. (Mandy), Timothy Hughes (Dr. Alex Hughes), and Tiffany Hughes (fiancé Tommy Pipher); and her three great-grandchildren, Braiden Hughes, Charlie Brooke Hughes, and Livi James Hughes.
