Frank Carlton Massey, born on June 20, 1951, in Mobile, Alabama, passed away on September 25, 2025, leaving behind an enduring legacy of integrity and love. Frank dedicated 33 years of his professional life to Bridgestone Firestone Corporation, where he excelled as a District Manager. After retiring, he embarked on a new venture, founding an Association Management company in Orange Beach, Alabama which he successfully managed until 2024.
A trusted, wise, and direct man, Frank was well-known for holding everyone accountable and for his unwavering commitment to his word. His personality attracted many to him, and he cherished the moments spent with his family and friends. Frank loved life. He found joy in discovering the nearest "happy hour", savoring an ice-cold Coors Light, eating Crawfish, boating, sitting on the beach or by the pool, working in the yard, taking his grandkids fishing and crabbing, grilling burgers and hotdogs, barbecuing some ribs, or just having a good ole shrimp boil with his entire family.
Frank served honorably in the United States Navy, an experience that contributed to the strong sense of responsibility and dedication he carried throughout his life. His proudest accomplishments were not just rooted in his successful career but, more importantly, in the loving family he built.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Susan Kelly Massey; his son Byron C. Massey and daughter-in-law Jennifer L. Massey; son Justin W. Massey and daughter-in-law Caroline P. Massey; grandchildren Braxton C. Massey, Ella Perry Massey, Brody Massey, Bella Cay Massey, Blake C. Massey; step-grandchildren William B. Long and Cameron E. Long; his sister Janet Wooley and brother-in-law Steve Wooley; as well as his brother Kenny Massey and sister-in-law Stacy Massey.
Frank is preceded in death by his grandson, Bryce Carlton Massey, and his parents, Lalla Massey and Otis Massey.
He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the deep love and care he showed his family, which will continue to resonate in their lives. As they navigate life without him, they hold dear the memories of a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Many thanks to the Orange Beach First Responders and the medical team at Baldwin Health Free Standing Emergency Department, particularly Ashley who showed the utmost in care and compassion.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd from 10-11:00am, followed by a Chapel service at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Alabama. Burial will briefly follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
