Obituary

Fred Benjamin Morrison, affectionately known as Freddy, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, in Daphne, Alabama, at the age of 79. Born on October 26, 1946, in Fairhope, Alabama, Fred’s life was deeply rooted in the gentle warmth and steadfast spirit of his beloved southern home.

Fred was cherished by a close-knit family who surrounded him in love throughout his days. He is survived by his devoted brothers, Joe Morrison and Billy Morrison, whose lifelong bond brought laughter and companionship, and his beloved sister, Mary Donald, who was always a source of encouragement and joy. He is also remembered fondly by his caring sister-in-law, Margaret, and his brother-in-law, Billy, whose friendship and kindness meant a great deal to Fred.  He was blessed with so many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

As we honor Fred’s life, we also remember those who went before him: his father, Lum Morrison Sr.; his mother, Edwina Morrison; and his dear brother, Lum Morrison Jr. Their memories live on in the stories and traditions that shaped Fred into the man he became—a man of quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering devotion to family.

Though the specifics of his life’s milestones and accomplishments are not detailed here, it is evident that Fred’s greatest legacy was the profound impact he had on those lucky enough to know him. His warmth, kindness, and easygoing nature left a lasting imprint on all who crossed his path. Whether gathered around a table for a family meal or sharing a story on a quiet evening, Fred’s presence was a comfort and a joy.

A private service honoring Fred’s memory will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope. Surrounded by the serenity of the gardens, family and friends will come together in quiet reflection to celebrate a life well-lived.

Fred Benjamin Morrison’s legacy endures in the hearts of his family and all who loved him. As we say goodbye to Freddy, we find solace in our memories—simple and precious, woven with love and gratitude for the life he shared so generously with us all.
