Gerald Fredrick Bishop

Gerald Fredrick Bishop, affectionately known as Gerry, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Foley, Alabama, at the age of 75. Born on January 8, 1950, in Fairhope, Alabama, Gerry was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend whose kind spirit and unwavering dedication touched the lives of many.

Gerry devoted a significant portion of his life to his career at Scott Paper/Kimberly-Clark Paper Company, where he worked diligently for 30 years. His commitment to his profession exemplified his strong work ethic and perseverance.

Throughout his life, Gerry was passionate about the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and share memorable times with family and friends. These pursuits enriched his life and fostered deeper, more meaningful relationships, which were of utmost importance to him.

Gerry is survived by his son, Paul (Cindy) Bishop of Hoover, AL; his sisters, Marianne (Glenn) Stewart and Susan B. Wilson, both of Barnwell, AL; and his brother, Jeff Bishop of Fairhope, AL. He also cherished his stepdaughter, Deanda (Danny) Hartley, and son Robert Vernon Bishop, and took great joy in being a grandfather to Ryan Bishop and Devon Hartley. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends who will miss his warmth and sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Aaron Gerald Bishop and Frances Nelson Bishop. Gerry's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered not just for his professional accomplishments but for the love and sincerity he showed in every aspect of his life.

The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
