Glenda K. (Snyder) Morrow-Ghent January 14, 1942 – June 11, 2025

Glenda K. (Snyder) Morrow-Ghent, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of eighty-three.

Born on January 14, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio, Glenda was the daughter of the late H. Glenn Snyder and Mildred E. Kline, longtime residents of Ontario, Ohio. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist church. Glenda graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1960, where she was active in the marching band. Following high school, she attended cosmetology school in Columbus, Ohio, and became a licensed cosmetologist, a career she pursued for more than 40 years.

Glenda owned and operated Glenda’s Beauty Salon on Shady Lane in Mansfield, where her clients became dear friends. The salon was a warm and lively place, filled with laughter, conversations, and the occasional visit from her children—often darting in and out, pausing just long enough for a quick sit on the lap of whoever may be sitting under the hair dryer at the time. Glenda took extraordinary pride in her appearance; we marveled at her ability to apply the perfect lipstick until the very end.

Glenda was united in marriage to Marshall R. Morrow on April 7, 1962. Together they built a loving home and raised two children: Marsha K. Morrow of Daphne, Alabama, and Dr. Jeffery A. Morrow of Mobile, Alabama. They were married 44 years until Marshall’s passing on August 11, 2006. Later, she shared many happy years with Clyde E. Ghent affectionately known as “Butch.” They were married on September 26, 2012, and remained together until his passing on December 02, 2013.

Outside of work, Glenda enjoyed a full and joyful life. She cherished time with family, especially the annual summer camping trips taken in their truck camper and all the holiday gatherings with her sisters, nieces, and nephews. Glenda was an avid gardener enjoying all the flowers she planted around the home. She loved watching hummingbirds flutter about the scattered feeders on her back porch. She was a long-time member of the Friday night couples league at Little Apple Golf Course. Always a social spirit, in later years Glenda spent happy evenings dancing and enjoying good company at American Legion Post 535 and Amvets Post 26. She enjoyed shopping, and whether she returned home with a purchase or not, she always brought back a happy story of how she just met the nicest people while out.

In 2016, Glenda moved to Daphne, Alabama, to share a home with her daughter Marsha. She welcomed the warmer weather and being closer to her son. She continued to enjoy gardening, dancing at American Legion Post 44, shopping, beach visits, the occasional casino trip, and the companionship of her beloved rescue dog, Amber. She looked forward to the many Sunday dinners spent with Jeff and Lynn learning all about the Southern dishes common on the Gulf Coast. Throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s disease, Glenda remained gentle, resilient, and gracious. Her final days were peaceful, surrounded by gentle music, scripture, old family movies, and the love of her children.

To cherish her memory, Glenda leaves behind her daughter Marsha of Daphne, Alabama, her son Jeff (Travis Lynn Atkins) of Mobile, Alabama, her sisters Dianne (John) Dorn of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sue (Keith) Eberhardt of Succasunna, New Jersey, and Tami (Pete) Papay of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

The family wants to thank the caring staff of The Retreat at Saads inpatient hospice and Pascal of Springhill Hospice for their support and comfort during her final days. They made all the difference in the world.

Private services will be held by the family, with interment at Mansfield Memorial Gardens in Mansfield, Ohio.
